Ramadan 2021

Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahumatu Allahi Wa Barakatuh

O you who believed! Observing As Siyam (the fasting) is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may become righteous (Al-Muttaqeen). [Surah Al-Baqarah 2: 183]

Abu Hurayrah ‎ (may Allah SWT be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet ﷺ said: “When Ramadan enters, the gates of Paradise are opened, the gates of Hellfire are closed and the devils are chained.” (Al-Bukhari and Muslim).

On behalf of HDMS Shura, Hills Awqaf, ambassadors, and volunteers, we are extending our best wishes and Duas for the arrival of the blessed month of Ramadan to fulfil the obligations bestowed upon us and reap the benefit to the maximum of this holy month.

So we are very pleased to announce that Insha Allah we will be able to offer Taraweeh and Eid prayer this year. However, this is all subject to the prevailing pandemic condition and authority guidelines and restrictions.

Alhamdolilah, so far HDMS and our community members have complied with all the restrictions and the conditions issued by the authorities.

As we are still under space restriction with venues, we cannot offer our regular format of 20 Rakaats of Taraweeh, instead now we are offering two sets of Taraweeh each night. Registration and booking are essential like Friday prayers. In order to not waste the spots, every day we will be releasing the tickets for two sessions during noon time.

Every session will start with Isha prayer followed by 8 Rakaats of Taraweeh and conclude with Witer Prayer. Insha Allah each session the Imam will be covering half a Juz.

Community Iftar day is being proposed on Saturday the 1st of May, please take a note of this date and details will follow soon.

As we all can appreciate that last year all of us were deprived of Taraweeh prayer in congregation. HDMS Shura, our respected Imam and selected members of the community have met and consulted at multiple times and the consensus was to facilitate maximum participation of the community members and their families with strict compliance to the restrictions and government authorities’ guidelines.

It was also resolved that HDMS respects the brothers and sisters who want to start their fast on Tuesday and the brothers and sisters who want to start their fast subject to local Moon-sighting announcement.

Therefore, the Taraweeh will start on Monday, 12th of April 2021. It is also resolved that this year if required HDMS will offer two Eid services. Further details about Eid programs will be released in due course.

We are hoping that Insha Allah the employment of these measures will result in maximum community participation.
