Dear Community Members

Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatu Allahe Wa Barakatuh

Australia and the rest of the world are experiencing predicament and very difficult times. I want to congratulate all of you for the responsible role so far you have played in by employing all possible measures to protect us, our friends, family, and the larger community in these unprecedented situations.

As you are aware that since the breakout of the COVID-19, Hills District Muslim Society and Hills Awqaf Board is proactively taking measures to prevent the spread in our local community. We are following the latest advice given by the Australian National Cabinet, Health protection principal committee experts, and maintaining close and continuous consultation with Australian National Imam Council ‘ANIC’ on these rapidly evolving situations.

In the light of the attached 18th March, 2020 Australian Fatwa Council’s Fatwa, Australian National Imam Council Public Statement and further consultation with our Imam Shaikh Saleh Gahit, Hills District Muslim Society and Hills Awqaf Board has decided to temporarily suspend the Salutul Jumaa (Friday Prayers), Friday Quran and Tafseer classes, the daily congregational prayers, Quran classes until further notice at all of our different venues.

Arrangements are being made to offer some of the Quran classes online, further details will be sent to the students and their parents directly by the respective teacher.

We request all our Muslim community members to pray 5 daily prayers and 4 Rak’at of Duhhr prayers (Instead of Friday) at home. May Allah SWT remove this disease from the face of this earth, and protect us and the communities around.
